Singer-Songwriter Mikaela Keeps Listeners Engaged in Techno Refrain Track “I Need to Go Out”

Mikaela’s music style is described as sweet, addictive pop melodies juxtaposed with deep house and techno. Mikaela Stenmo’s artistry is perfect for young adults coming of age, but appealing to all ages. Her dark vocal tones are a contrast to the vibrant and sparkly melodies she creates.

On December 4th, Mikaela dropped her new track, “I Need To Go Out,” a 3-minute track. In two weeks, the song has gained over 3,300 streams on Spotify and is the top played track amongst her works. “Oh I need to go out, go out, go out, cause I’m so faded that I black out, black out, black out. Stumble out into the daylight, daylight, daylight. Just to get out of my head, then I’ll do it all again, then I’ll do it all again” is precisely how Mikaela keeps her listeners engaged and wanting to move with the techno refrain. The song addresses the desire to get away, to escape, and to long for light and hope.

Prior to “I Need to Get Out,” Mikaela Stenmo’s other release was her debut EP with 6 songs totaling 21 minutes. The EP, “Eternal Bliss,” came out on September 30, 2018 and was a solid collection and display of her talented way to contrast cheery tunes with quicker, club-esque rhythms. Her singing remains articulate and mature throughout the collection. It is clear that Mikaela is very interested in quality over quantity, not rushing the process to release too many songs. The title song, “Eternal Bliss” is easily the strongest song of the collection. This is Mikaela’s second-most played track on her Spotify list. The second track, “Run” fits seamlessly with the EP’s overall theme and reveals the depth of Mikaela’ creativity, by arranging the instruments to metaphorically sound like footsteps running. The longest song is also the third track, “Covered in Gold.” “Talk” gets a little more serious and melancholy, which is a departure from the previous three upbeat melodies. However, “Carry On” follows up again with a happier vibe, encouraging listeners to stay strong despite being alone or being bitter. “Keep Up” is the final track on the debut EP and is a more subdued techno beat. With her endless lyrical poetry and sweet voice, Mikaela managed to develop a strong conclusive song to wrap up the compilation.

Mikaela also makes an appearance twice on the ‘Silver Linings” album by Alex Silver, released in 2019. On that album, the Swedish artist is featured in “Silver Rain” and “Bliss.” She can be found in the song “Sweetness” on the “love Hart Presents: Hart.Fm” compilation, as well as the “Falling” single alongside Nitefreak on the latters 2020 single. The musician has over 1,000 monthly listeners on her Spotify account and a little over 1,500 Instagram followers. The artist herself is someone to look out for, promises more goodness in the coming year.
