“Go” is Canadian artist Dani Doucette’s newest single, dropped across platforms on July 25, 2020. The alternative and pop entertainer described the track being inspired from an incident where a man behaved in a superior fashion towards her. Dani writes in the Instagram post announcing the release, “I wrote this in a cab on my way to the studio after leaving a meeting” with that individual. The 3:19 long song is pop-infused and addictive, easily played on repeat. The singer lends her emotion-laden vocals singing, “You gimme red lights and I’ll make ‘em green. You think you know me and you don’t. […] So please tell me who you think I am. Oh I’d love to hear your thoughts. But be wary of my quiet disposition.” Dani ingeniously starts the song with powerfully empowering lyrics, having easily creating an anthem to bring strength to a listener.
As one of Toronto’s newest original pop and R&B singers, Dani is not only a singer and songwriter, but also a model with Spot 6 Management. Earlier this year, Dani wrote and sung original song “100% You,” posting a sneak peek to her YouTube account on April 9th. Produced by Anthony Wright at Iguana Studios, the behind the scenes video has nearly reached 1,000 views. “100% You” truly depicts her angelic voice and stunning smile, “I never felt that I was unstoppable. ‘Til you told me what you saw in me, saw the stars I couldn’t see. And on those days I’m doubtful, you always know how to make me smile.” Fans are still awaiting the official release of this song.
Generously, Dani contributed two songs to charity album “Acoustic for Elephants,” produced by William Thaine and released by Sevenfields in 2015. One hundred percent of the gross record label proceeds from the album were donated to World Elephant Day. Recorded live off the floor, both “My Friend” and “I Blame You” are acoustic versions. In 2017, Dani lent her flighty voice to collaborate with session musician TDK for 3 out of 4 tracks on a mid 90’s clubland piece called “Feel” under the SOAR label. Though not prominently featured, the time she is given sturdily accentuates TDK’s melancholic metallic synth power in one track, an orchestral affair with staccatos in another, and a hypnotic deep tech house music in a third mix.
